What do you need to know and do what truly feels right for you?

We’ve all experienced it: starting a plan full of good intentions, only to lose focus along the way. Or realizing that what we’re chasing doesn’t actually feel like ours. Sometimes the goals we work so hard for turn out to be expectations from others; our parents, partner or environment. Setting goals may seem simple, but truly achieving them requires more than willpower alone.

It all starts with clarity. What do you really want? What do you need? And most importantly, what feels right for you?

1. Clarity as a starting point

Clarity is the foundation of every meaningful goal. As long as you’re not sure what you want, action becomes random. The first step doesn’t need to be perfect. Sometimes clarity begins by writing down what you no longer want: what drains your energy, what feels off, what you’re ready to let go of. That simple act already creates space for new direction.

Reflection exercise: take a sheet of paper and draw two columns. On the left: what do I no longer want in my life?On the right: what do I do want, or what do I long for?

And if you truly don’t know what you want yet, start small. Write down five moments from the past month when you felt genuinely good. When did you lose track of time? What gave you energy or satisfaction without effort? These are often the subtle clues that point to what really matters to you.

2. From insight to action

Insights are valuable, but without action they change nothing. Many people stay stuck in thinking, analysing and planning. Accountability mentoring helps bridge the gap between knowing and doing.

As American author Hal Elrod writes in The Miracle Morning: “If you want your life to be different, you have to be willing to do something different.” Change requires movement, not waiting for the perfect moment.

Approach in mentoring: together we translate your goals into achievable steps, build rhythm and make progress visible. This turns action into a habit instead of a one-time effort.

3. You don’t have to do it alone

Everyone experiences moments of doubt or a dip in motivation. That’s exactly when accountability makes a difference. Instead of carrying everything on your own, you have someone beside you who listens, challenges and reminds you of what truly matters.

According to the Self Determination Theory, motivation remains sustainable when three elements are present: autonomy, competence and connection. That last one, connection, is the foundation of mentoring. Knowing that someone walks alongside you makes it easier to stay on track, even when things get tough.

Conclusion: from goals to deeper awareness

Reaching results isn’t about working harder. It’s about becoming more conscious in your choices. Clarity about what you want, a plan that fits your rhythm and someone who helps you stay consistent. That’s what creates real progress.

During an accountability journey, we don’t just look at goals and actions. We go deeper, exploring patterns in behaviour, underlying emotions, limiting beliefs and how your nervous system responds to pressure or change.

Scientific research, including The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk, shows how closely our body and brain work together in how we react, adapt and sustain change.

Understanding that deeper layer doesn’t just create progress; it builds calm, confidence and lasting transformation.
